Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking

Langtang Gosaikunda trekking cover the large area in Langtang region. Langtang is a beautiful alpine valley lies in the north central Nepal; surrounded by superb silver capped mountain with manifold culture and ethnic people mainly from Buddhist origin.

Langtang Gosaikunda trekking (also called Langtang circuit trek) is a wonderful opportunity to explore beautiful cultural villages, ancient Buddhist monasteries, Gompas, miraculous mountain peaks, high altitude Yak pasture, wildlife, flora & fauna. Above them all; it’s a great prospect to observe the Holy ‘Gosaikunda’ lake. This sacred Lake situated at an elevation of 4380 meters and main source of famous Trishuli River.

The history of Lake Gosaikunda associated with great god lord Shiva. It is believed to have originated by digging the hill by Trishul (the sword) of Lord Shiva after he drank poison and desperately needed to drink cold water & douse the heat of the poison. Ever since he got the cold water by digging the hill, the water is continuously flowing till to the date. Gosaikunda Lake is also a very popular pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. Every year huge full moon festivals take place around Gosaikunda in August. There are several other similar lakes are scattered around.

Leaving Gosaikunda back and crossing the highest point of the trek Lauribina La pass (4610 m.) continue our journey towards Gopte, Tharepati, Gul Bhanjyang, Chisapani and Kathmandu with a great experience of Himalayan panorama and cultural vicinity. We can truly say this is a rewarding journey through the mid hill valley of Nepal.

What Makes This Trip Responsible:-

Austravel & Tours Nepal works closely with the CESSAN (children education and social service association Nepal) and is one of the main supporters of CESSAN; we contribute support in a number of ways. Firstly we donate a percentage of business profits to the association on a yearly basis which support the ongoing expenses of school children.

We conduct some charity tour and trekking throughout the year to visit and support school projects. Our charity tour-trek combines adventure and kindness, providing the participant with lasting memories of the Himalayas while allowing them to contribute to a remote community of mid-Nepal.

We also supply a number of travelers that are including a volunteer stay within the village. Volunteers have been offering their personal skills for teaching to the school students. Please contact us if you wish to teach in the school and work in farms with local people.
